Its high-fashion pedigree by designer Andree Putman has made it one of Paris's hottest hotels bars since inception. In a historic WWI townhouse within the 8th Arrondissement, Lounge Bar at Pershing Hall is located within the upper-level lounge area accessed via a dramatic sweeping staircase and jaunt through the in-house restaurant and its elaborate hanging garden. The space dazzles with an Alice in Wonderland meets disco inferno sex appeal against a towering rococo mirrored bar reflecting Murano glass chandeliers in asymmetrical ceiling patterns. Modern seating areas are arranged with cubist swivel chairs and super-low sofas that require a bit of momentum to vacate. Barstool seating should be avoided; impractical placement on the thick carpeting makes them wobbly on top of being too hard to sit for long. The staff isn't quick on service, but ever so sexy while taking their time to serve a high-priced cocktail menu and Asian-style nibblers.
